Celebrate the Seasons Unit One Pt .2: Farms and Harvest

Throughout history and in many different cultures the autumnal equinox has been a time of celebration as the harvest was gathered in and people now turned their attention to preparing for the long winter ahead. This unit focuses on learning about farms and how important they are to all of us, which leads pretty seamlessly into talking about the harvest and where our food comes from. We will also pay attention to the moon, as the harvest moon (The full moon nearest to the date of the autumnal equinox) is another cultural phenomenon that takes place during this time of year.
